Kirtland temple

We had a wonderful tour through the Kirtland temple.  Amazing events happened there.  Jesus Christ appeared and accepted the temple.  Moses, Elias and Elijah came and restored priesthood keys.  See D&C sections 109 and 110.  The days of the dedication were compared to the days of Pentecost in the book of Acts.  People witnessed the temple appearing to be on fire but not burning.  They saw angels walking on the rooftop.

Serving in the Nauvoo temple has given us a greater appreciation for these events.  We love being in the place where Elijah brought the sealing keys back to the earth.  As a result of this glorious event, the authority has been given to allow saving and exalting ordinances to be given in the temple.  We are so grateful that we have been sealed together for "time and for all eternity" and that we can have our family sealed to us as part of an eternal chain.  Our greatest desire is to have all of our family members receive those ordinances in the temple, and to live worthy of the covenents they have made so that we will have that glorious blessing together forever!

Our tour guide asked us to sing “The Spirit of God” and Sister Dickson accompanied us on the piano.  This was on the first floor called “the house of worship”
